What we collect: Your name, email address, state, student status, vote, and optional question.

How email is handled: Your email is used only to send you one verification link. After sending, the raw email is discarded. Only a SHA-256 hash of your email is stored. This cannot be reversed to reveal your email address. It is used only to prevent duplicate submissions.

What is stored: Your name (if you opt to display it publicly), SHA-256 email hash, state, student status, vote, and optional question. IP addresses are hashed for rate limiting and never stored in plain text.

What is shown publicly:If you opt in, your first name and last initial (e.g. "Rahul S. from Delhi") appears in the scrolling ticker. Your email is never shown. Your question is never shown publicly. It is processed offline.

Third-party services: We use Supabase (database), Resend (email), hCaptcha (anti-bot), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare (CDN/DDoS protection). No data is shared with advertisers.

Data export: Anonymised CSV data (no names or emails) is available for download by anyone from the Results page.

Data retention: Data is retained for 3 years from the date of collection, or until the demands of this initiative are formally addressed, whichever is later. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address listed below.

This section explains how data is collected and verified. It is designed to be cited by journalists, researchers, and lawyers who wish to reference this initiative.

• Every response requires a valid email confirmation link to be clicked before the vote is counted.
• One response is permitted per unique email address, enforced by a unique database constraint.
• IP-based rate limiting prevents more than 3 submissions per IP address per hour.
• hCaptcha is used to prevent automated bot submissions.
• Raw email addresses are never stored. Only SHA-256 hashes are retained for deduplication.
• Daily timestamped snapshots of aggregated data are archived independently.
• Questions are stored privately and processed offline using a local LLM. They are never shown in real time.
• Verified raw data (excluding emails and personal details) is available to courts under proper legal process.
